When sitting on the floor, you are very likely to change position more often, in other words to move more! It happens naturally, without even giving it much thought, as my children demonstrated to me today.
Preferring the floor to the couch as a daily habit is an easy, accessible and beneficial way to add more movement to your life as you also have to get down and get up again, using your muscles differently, taking them through a wider range of motion. Sitting on the floor barefoot is even better, as you can wriggle your toes or spread them with your hands if you are a movement nerd like me! Why not take your lovely, warm and comforting slippers off for a few moments? Come out of your comfort zone, be open to change, be brave! Choosing the floor also gives you a chance to use your arms and hands differently. Make sure you spread your fingers gently, slowly and evenly if you happen to put your hand down on the floor - such a good way to release hidden tension. Give this a go. Make this tiny change and reap the benefits!

Hi Travis, I'm really sorry but I don't understand your comment. Would you please rephrase it? Many thanks.
