If sitting on the floor is out of comfortable reach for now, don't worry. Try and sit a little lower than what you are used to, to vary the angles of your joints. Try a stool or simply a slightly lower chair than what you normally sit on. Alternatively, put your feet up on a stool or a dictionary. If you cannot get down to the floor, bring the floor closer to you! Just a few minutes here and there. Build up slowly to give your joints and soft tissues time to adjust. Let your body hold you there for a bit rather than flop back immediately towards the backrest. The more you do this, the easier it will get. Above all, treat yourself gently. And expect the same from anyone looking after your health and well-being.💗 ![]() A couple of years ago, I was finding that sitting on the floor was not comfortable for very long, not even on a stool. You can perhaps see the rounding of my mid-back and my lower back. ![]() My back now! It does look flatter, more elongated. It FEELS better too! And I'm able to flex my hips a bit more. If this post is of interest to you, you're welcome to contact me to reserve your place on my upcoming workshop (Saturday 2nd February 2019) which will focus on the spine.
